Questions and Answers

Questions & Answers

These are our most popular questions asked when reserving a Horse Trek.

 1. Can I just turn up at your stables or do we have to book in advance ?
You really need to book in advance, as we do get booked up very quickly and if you turn up we cannot guarentee to take you out, we dont want you wasting your time any money especially if you are turning up in a taxi, as we have different types of treks going out all the time, so please call us first or whats app us to avoid disappointment.  The busiest times of year for us is Christmas, New Year, Easter, July and August and all the school holidays, if you are wanting to book for this time of year its advisable to book a month inadvance, especially if its for groups of 4 to 5 and if you want to book for a special day i.e birthday or anniversary.

2. How do I reserve a booking ?
It is very easy,  contact us first, either via email, calling, messaging us on our facebook page or what app, if you are already in Tenerife, please call or whats app and then we can get you booked in as soon as possible as emails are too slow when we are busy.  Once we have confirmed we have the availability for you, then to secure the booking and we know its a guarenteed booking, all we require is that you pay a deposit of 15 euros per person, this is a non-refundable deposit and this is very easily done on our website on directly on our paypal account.  PLEASE DO NOT PAY THE DEPOSIT FIRST BEFORE ENQUIRYING, as we cannot guarentee to fit you in always enquire first pay later.

3. Do you arrange transfers ?
No, unfortunately due to COVID we had to sell our minibus, so you would have to make your own way to the stables either by taxi or if you are hiring a car, its very easy to get to us and once booked your ride i will give you the directions on how to find us.

4. Do you have a weight limit ?
Yes we do and its very important you are honest with us about this, many riding centers abroad dont worry about this, but actually a horse can only carry 20% of its body weight and that is including the saddle, all our horses have a different weight limit so we always make sure we get the right horse for you, if not the horse will be in pain and their backs can get damaged over time.

5. Do you have a age limit ?
Yes, we can offer 10 min pony ride from the age of 3 but a adult has to walk along side the whole of the time, from 4 years and upwards we can offer the 1hr trek, again a parent has to ride on a horse behind as we do not take children out unaccompanied under the age of 10.  To be able to go on a 1.5hr or 2 hr trek you have to be over the age of 10 and to be at least a intermediate rider.  To go horse riding you have to be in a reasonable fit condition to ride as the older you get your not a strong as you used to be so normally up to 65 if in good health and only the 1hr ride.

6. Can my child ride on the same horse as me ?
Certainly not, we do not offer this service at all its highly dangerous to do this, a saddle is made for 1 person, and how on earth can you hold the reins and control the horse when holding a child, you cant, we have ponies which are well schooled and we will lead your child with a lead rope while they sit on the pony.

7. Do i have to wear a helmet ?
Yes, this is compulsary, if you refuse to wear a helmet, sorry but we refuse to take you out.

8. I am a advanced rider, my partner is a beginner but the last time we were on holiday we galloped can we do that here?
No, we are a very professionally run stables with a excellent reputation and unlike a lot of stables safety is very high on our list, riding is horses is actually classed as a dangerous sport, therefore we offer different levels of riding treks which are suited to you.  We offer the beginners trek, this is for first time riders, people that have only ridden on holiday, had no lessons what so ever, then we have the Intermediate trek, this is for riders who are very competent in trot either rising or sitting, to have had lessons in trot , have good balance and the main thing is to have good control of the horse whilst in trot, keeping distance and not over taking, and certainly not holding onto the saddle as by doing this you have no control at all of the horse, lastly the advanced trek, this is for experienced riders only, who are competent riders in trot, canter/gallop and are regular riders.  Going on holiday and having a canter whilst been a beginner does not make you a advanced rider, as you can have a nasty accident, cause a accident to others and the horses, if we are in doubt we will test you out in the arena to see your level of riding, if we feel you are not competent , you will not be going on that ride, as it is not fair on the other advanced or intermediate riders and you will lose your deposit, so its extreamly important you are very honest about your level.

9. Can we book when we are here in Tenerife?
You can yes, but DONT send us a email, please call or whats app us as we get bookings all the time and by the time you have received and read our reply we might of taken bookings since then, PLEASE NOTE YOU CAN ONLY RESERVE A BOOKING WHETHER ITS VIA WHATS APP OR CALLING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 09.00 AND 19.00, these are our opening hours for the reservations, ( we do not answer the phone after 7pm)   Its always best to book before you come out to guarentee the day and time slot you want, especially if its for a birthday, large group, I would highly advise to book in advance, before you arrive in Tenerife,  when booking for the school holidays, half terms, Easter and Christmas and new year.

10. What do we need to wear for horse riding ?
You need to wear closed shoes, so pumps or trainers are good if they have a hard sole but sandeles, flip flops and crocks are NOT allowed, its also advisable to wear trousers or leggings as this will stop your leg from rubbing on the struip leathers, you can wear shorts but its not advisable. We do NOT supply clothing, so please look at the weather and if its cloudy or spitting please come dressed to the weather.

11. Why do we have to pay a deposit, can we just not pay on the day.
The reason as to why we get people to pay a deposit, is so we know its a guarenteed booking and it also secures your booking, as in the past we get people booking and not turning up or they change their minds and don't bother letting us know, when we have spent time preparing them and unfortunately we cannot afford to work for free. The deposit is non-refundable.

12. We are a large group when do i book ?
We have limited horses and staff, the largest number we can take out depending on your level of riding, and if there are children,  of course is 6/7, so i can only book you in when i have nothing else on, as we are a very busy and popular trekking center, I would highly advise you book before you arrive in Tenerife, if you are here now, book as soon as possible.

13. Can I book through a excursion shop ?
No, Its best to book direct with us if you can, as we normally dont deal with the Excursion shops, as they want alot of commission, when its not going their way they will talk you out of it,  haggling for a better deal all the time, and in the past we have had problems with people not turning up and they give us the wrong information and they send our clients somewhere different and we end up loosing out, so we prefer to deal with our clients direct, we are english. so you can contact us no problem and all our numbers are on our website, facebook page and tripadvisor page.

14. I dont have a paypal account is this a problem.
No its not, our payment system runs through paypal as its easy and the most secure way of paying, as well as paying with paypal you also have a option to pay with any credit or debit cards no problem.
To pay the deposit here are the steps you need to do:-
